As part of the Central bank of the United States, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston works to promote sound growth and financial stability in New England and the nation. The Boston Fed contributes by conducting economic research, participating in monetary policy-making, supervising financial institutions, providing financial services and payments, playing a leadership role in the payments industry, and supporting economic wellbeing in communities through a variety of efforts.
The Gastón Institute informs policymakers,scholarly audiences, and Latino community leaders and institutions about issues vital to the state’s growing Latino community and provides the information and analysis necessary for effective participation in public policy development by documenting the Latino experience in Massachusetts through research and publications.
The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) is a public agency governed by representatives from each city and town in the region, as well as gubernatorial appointees and designees of major public agencies. MAPC’s mission is to promote smart growth and regional collaboration. They work toward sound municipal management, sustainable land use, protection of natural resources, efficient and affordable transportation, a diverse housing stock, public safety, economic development, clean energy, healthy communities, an informed public, and equity and opportunity among people of all backgrounds.
