Liseth J. Velez is building an immigrants dream one project at a time. Her life story is as empowering and inspiring as the structures she builds. A Colombian-American family of modest means, her dedication, and commitment to excellence have led to her recognition in both her civilian and military career.
As founder and CEO of L.J.V. Development, she provides top-tier construction services to government agencies. L.J.V. takes an active role in management and execution of projects. Liseth and her team understand and exceed the fiscal, time, and quality standards the government demands.
As a Staff Sergeant, Liseth’s leadership shone through her military career. From 2012 to 2018, she served in the U.S Air force National Guard as an HVAC Technician. While deployed in Djibouti, Africa, she earned an Army Achievement Medal for coordinating the construction of temporary housing that supported a tactical network. In Hawaii, she spearheaded the widespread refurbishment of DoD equipment—saving an estimated $4M in the case of equipment failure.
She decisively carries this professionalism into her civilian life. Since founding L.J.V. in 2018, she has continued to lead many successful projects. As the CEO of a service-disabled and minority, women, and veteran-owned company, Liseth and her team excel in construction management, government contract procurement, and community engagement.
In addition to construction projects and other major developments, she’s passionate about building opportunities for others. She supports the growth of colleagues and industry peers through mentorship and public speaking, and she empowers a new generation through local volunteering.
